Description and Table of Contents
Description
This is a selection of 12 short stories from 20th century English speaking writers including some from the USA, New Zealand, Africa and the Caribbean and including authors such as Hemingway, Greene and Narayan. The book is designed for upper intermediate to advanced level students. It contains 12 units which each comprise pre-reading and photo work, story text and glossary, development exercises and comprehension plus vocabulary and stylistics for advanced level students. The structured language activities such as discussion and writing tasks are designed to enhance students' appreciation of literature by giving them the opportunity to explore and enjoy complete texts. Accompanying exercises help build vocabulary and encourage personal response, and an accompanying cassette is available which contains readings in varieties of English from around the world. Richard Rossner is also author of "Ways to Grammar, Contemporary English".
