Description and Table of Contents

Description

Initially designed as an aid for the practical application of the TNM classification system, this atlas now includes the most recent FIGO changes in the classification for corpus uteri and vulva carcinoma, and a new insert with the T and N definitions by site. It also contains the latest version of the World Health Organization's International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, 2nd edition, 1990. The classification of malignant tumours is intended to assist the clinician in determining the prognosis and planning treatment, and in evaluating the results of treatment. The classification also aims to facilitate the exchange of information among treatment centres and to contribute to the continuing investigation of cancer.
