Description and Table of Contents

Description

This revised and updated reference work provides over 23,000 chemical entries. Exposure standards have also been expanded to include OSHA PELS (Permissible Exposure Limits); ACGIH TLV (Threshold Limit Values); STEL (Short Term Exposure Limits); BEI (Biological Exposure Index); and MAKS (Maximum Allowable Concentrations) from the German Research Institute. The section reviewing toxic hazards has been made more understandable by eliminating the use of abbreviations. Another feature designed to make this edition easier to use is the assignment to each entry of an alphanumeric number to provide faster access to substances with very long names.

  • Industrial and environmental cancer risks - E K Weisburger
