内容説明
Cytoskeletal research has undergone rapid progress in recent years and is currently an area of intense research activity. "The Cytoskeleton - A Practical Approach" discusses methods and advice for investigating the cytoskeletal elements of eukaryotic cells. It focuses on the dynamic and functional aspects of the three major systems of the cytoskeleton - microfilaments, intermediate filaments and microtobules, and their interactions with their associate proteins. Detailed experimental protocols are given throughout, and emphasis is placed on recent advances in areas such as and microchemistry of proteins. This volume is aimed at both experienced and novice researchers, who wish to apply the technologies available for the study of these important components of eukaryotic cell structure.
目次
- Yu-li Wang: Fluorescence microscopic analysis of cytoskeletal organization and dynamics
- John H. Hartwig: An ultrastructural apporoach to understanding the cytoskeleton
- John A. Cooper: Actin filament assembly and organization in vitro
- Paul Matsudaira: Mapping structural and functional domains in actin-binding proteins
- R. Kimberley Cook & Peter A. Rubinstein: The generation and isolation of mutant actins
- Carolie A. Carothers Carraway: Association of cytoskeletal proteins with membranes
- Robley C. Williams, Jr: Analysis of microtubule dynamics in vitro
- Roger D. Sloboda: Methods for the purification and assay of microtubule-associated motility proteins
