There are examinations of biotechnologies and their diffusion across farm size and their employment and distributional aspects and assessments of their contribution to combating hunger. Contrary to the popular, negative perceptions of biotechnology, the authors show that, if properly guided, it can indeed make a contribution to poverty alleviation, although it may require some structural adjustments.
