Description
The "At a Glance" series sets out to summarize the essential information about a particular subject for the student requiring a quick introduction or a guide to revision. This is done by taking each aspect of the subject in turn and condensing it into a two-page spread with a schematic diagram on the left and a concise explanation on the right. This fifth edition of "Immunology At a Glance" presents a broad look at immunology with the aid of a series of sketches to show the mechanisms involved in immunological processes. Three new chapters on AIDS, the cytokine network and immunity, and hormones and the brain are included, and a new appendix covers CD classification of cell markers, and subjects covered in the remainder of the text include: the scope of immunology; cellular and hormonal factors; antibody formation, structure and function; immunology of infectious disease; immunology of cancer; hypersensitivity; autoimmunity; and immunodeficiency.
