内容説明

This is an updated edition of a reference guide to diagnosing disease from the appearance of blood cells. Containing almost 1300 colour photomicrographs, the reader can identify and interpret cell and structures from a wide range of haematological disorders and conditions. The authors show examples of the microscopic appearances of most cell types, both common and rare. Normal and abnormal appearances are included to enable the reader to recognize the first signs of disease. As in the previous edition, the content is divided into five sections dealing with different types of cells, from red cells to lymph nodes. This third edition now includes histology and new illustrations of bone marrow tissue are positioned alongside the original bone marrow and lymph node smears relating to the same condition to help readers correctly interpret a range of disorders.

目次

  • The red cells and their precursors

  • lymphocytes, plasma cells and their derivatives and precursors in blood and in bone marrow
  • miscellaneous cells from bone marrow or blood smears, reticulo-endothelial cells, osteoclasts and osteoblasts, foreign cells and parasites
