Description and Table of Contents
Description
Dealing with over 1000 paintings by or attributed to Canaletto, as well as his drawings and etchings, this edition incorporates references to all that had been published on Canaletto since 1962. Over 100 paintings and drawings were added to the catalogue, and the chapter on etchings rewritten. Exhibitions and research in recent years have prompted this reprint. More detailed revision of the catalogue entries has been undertaken, and a new 9-page section of illustrations is included which reproduces all newly-discovered works and a number not previously illustrated. Constable's biography has been reprinted with any necessary amendments set out in the Review, a supplementary index is also included, which contains additions and amendments to the "catalogue raisonne".
