内容説明

The shoulder is arguably the second most frequently impaired joint in sports activity. Physical labourers required to do heavy lifting and construction workers also have a high incidence of shoulder complaints. In the rising population of the elderly, injuries to the tendons around the shoulder joint are common, even with ordinary activities. It is fortunate that magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become available at a time in which shoulder pathology is more frequently seen. It is a noninvasive procedure that does not use ionizing radiation. It provides detailed visualization of soft-tissue structures that is not possible with other imaging modalities. This book explains MRI of the shoulder. Though not as widely available as conventional radiographs or computed tomography (CT) scanning, the number of MRI units worldwide is increasing steadily.
