Description and Table of Contents
Description
Knowledge about the phenomena that govern the biological processes in wastewater treatment plants and more strict effluent criteria lead to continued research and developments in the field. Nitrogen and phosphorous removal processes which were not so long ago found in only a few treatment plants, are now a common feature of modern treatment plants all over the world. Delegates came to this specialised seminar organised by the IAWPRC to summarise development and review progress being made in the characterisation of wastewater and biomass, the investigation of biological processes, including nutrient removal, sludge bulking and clarification, and mathematical modelling and simulation.
