Description

It is vitally important that the equipment used in power stations is reliable and easy to maintain. Monitoring the performance of pumps and fans and developing better designs for them are of great concern to engineers in the industry. The international conference "Power Station Pumps and Fans" organized by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and held in London in May 1992, brought together engineers to discuss the many aspects of pump and fan design and operation. Topics covered include developments in pump seals, recent fan development, condition monitoring of pumps and fan drive motors and unstable flow in fans. The papers presented at the conference are collected in this volume.
