Description
This book presents an up-to-date review of the interdisciplinary field of particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology. This is an area which has rapidly developed in recent years and the neutrino, as an object of study in itself, or as a tool in neutrino physics or in astrophysics has been the centre of much interest. Other areas which have come under scrutiny include the quest for dark matter, the search for particles emitted by astrophysical objects or carrying the imprompta of our early universe, the physics of the celestial bodies, the study of rare phenomena. The emphasis is put on the many facets of astroparticle physics, where astrophysical and cosmological problems are viewed in the light of the new results in particle physics.
