Description
An edition with introduction and full critical apparatus of El secreto en la mujer by the 17th-century Spanish playwright Andres de Claramonte.
Alfredo Rodriguez Lopez-Vazquez is currently engaged in a re-evaluation of the work of the 17th-century actor-dramatist Andres de Claramonte. In this volume he edits MS. R. 169 of the Biblioteca Nacional, Madrid, which has manuscript additions in the hand of Claramonte. The introduction deals with themes, dramatic structure, characterisation, staging and poetic style. Variants are given at the foot of the page and explanatory notes follow the text.
ALFREDO RODRIGUEZ LOPEZ-VAZQUEZ has published editions of Deste agua no bebere, Pusoseme el sol, saliome la luna and El burlador de Sevilla.
