内容説明
Recent educational reforms in the US have been accompanied by the introduction of a wide range of quantitative "education indicators". To gain some impressions of emerging practice in the use of indicators in American education, six HMI from England, Scotland and Wales made visits in November 1989 to the education offices of seven states, and to government amd research agencies. Visits were also made to a small number of schools, colleges and universities. The use of indicators appears to contribute to accountability within the education systems;effective targeting of resources by management; identifying means to raise student achievement; curriculum evaluation and improvement; and monitoring of progress towards declared goals.
