内容説明

The primary goal of this text is to build an econometric model of the Guyanese economy over a limited span of time. This is done in a straightforward way so that the model building process is made accessible to undergraduates and beginning graduate students alike. Estimates are made of the principal components of national income such as consumption, investment, exports and imports. The model is then used to perform important economic tasks such as forecasting, multiplier analysis and policy simulation. Several areas of the field of economics are covered in the process of building, testing and evaluating the model. These areas include: statistics and econometrics, matrix algebra, microeconomics and, in particular, applied macroeconomics. For those readers interested in computer programming, the author includes the computer program used to solve the model. Includes charts and figures.
