内容説明
This book is the first to transfer recently gained knowledge in neurobiology into new therapeutic concepts for improving motor control in children with movement disorders after early brain damage. The opening section covers therapeutic concepts both in traditional therapies and in newly developed motor control models. The following section deals with the effects of brain damage on the development of the central nervous system, especially in preterm babies, and considers the most appropriate type of treatment for infants. Further sections discuss motor mechanisms and perceptual processes in arm and hand movements as well as the implications for therapy of research in locomotion, spasticity and postural control. The final section considers the value and necessity of measurements, assessments and evaluations for occupational and physiotherapy diagnosis and intervention.
