内容説明
Alkylphosphocholines represent a new and exciting class of antineoplastic agents, discovered by Eibl and Unger, displaying numerous biological effects. The research presented in this volume focuses on the biological properties of hexadecylphosphocholine (PHC) - the prototype of this class and one of the first lipid-derived anticancer compounds to be brought from the experimental stage to clinical trial. The contributions, authored by scientists directly involved in these developments, discuss the selective antineoplastic activity of HPC both in vitro and in vivo as well as the application of HPC in the topical treatment of skin metastases resulting from breast cancer and lymphomas. Summarizing what is now known about the biological activities of alkylphosphocholines and their potential as antitumour drugs, this book contains new information for cancer researchers, oncologists and pharmacologists.
