Description and Table of Contents
Description
This book presents an account of how to perform a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Every aspect of the operation is detailed, including the use and mode of action of the required apparatus. Each phase of the operation is described with the aid of diagrams which show how instruments work, rather than just their external features. Problems which can arise during the course of an operation are covered and hints and guidance on how to overcome those problems are included throughout. A separate chapter deals specifically with difficult cholecystectomies. This book offers practical guidance for the surgeon undertaking this form of surgery for the first time and lists the difficulties that other surgeons and the authors have had encountered. The text specifically addresses questions raised by those attending the author's courses on laparoscopic surgery and questions raised by those now using the technique.
