At a time when the USSR is in upheaval, and as Communism is swept away, this text aims to illuminate the rapid changes taking place. Organized around the assumption that the distinction between "State" and "Civil Society" is a key analytical tool, it sheds light on the processes involved in the breakdown of socialism.
