This work comprises a detailed and comprehensive survey of family law as practised in the superior courts, county courts or magistrates' courts. It offers an exposition of the law and also reproduces the relevant statutes, statutory instruments, practice directions and material relating to costs, tax and legal aid. The statutes are shown in both their original and their amended versions, and certain repealed statutes, where they are necessary for an understanding of the current law, are included. This 16th edition brings the work up to date with the many legislative changes that have occurred in the past few years - in particular, the Children's Act of 1989 has occasioned extensive revision and rewriting to incorporate the rules and regulations associated with the Act. The new edition is supplemented by a special loose-leaf noter-up to help the user keep up to date with the law.
