"Central News" videos are designed to give intermediate-level students access to authentic news broadcasts in English. Each edition consists of a 30-minute video cassette and an activity book. This cassette contains a compilation of local news items originally broadcast by Central Television. The stories cover a variety of contemporary topics which not only expose students to everyday English, but also provide contemporary information on life in Britain. The accompanying activity book contains tasks based around the news items, including reading material that parallels the television stories.
