内容説明
In this study the author examines the authenticity of those of Haydn's early instrumental works that have been proven authentic or spurious in previous investigations (over 100 works). For this purpose he has developed a systematic stylistic method for establishing authenticity. Fruehwald believes that the keys to determining authenticity are insignificant details of style that are not usually imitated, and quantitative ranges, such as harmonic rhythm andthe rate of textural change, that reveal hidden communicators. The study includes a revised list of Haydn's early works based on the results of these stylistic tests.
