内容説明

This work, intended for the use of scientists and clinicians, explores recent developments in bone grafting, covering repair and healing and also including biochemical reactions. Different types of bone graft, various grafting materials and critical sites for new bone formation are examined. Bone substitutes are explored in detail, covering composite grafts, metallic implants, implant interface and the computer-assisted fabrication of bone grafts. At the same time, revised methods of fixation are described and the "cartilage factor" is considered. A discussion of the use of electical stimulation of bone induction and grafting is included, along with information on the sorts of problems that can cause complications and which can prevent successful grafting.
