内容説明

Doppler ultrasound is playing an increasing role in obstetrics and there is much interest in its applications in this area. This book is intended for obstetricians, radiologists and ultrasonographers with little prior knowledge of acquiring and interpreting Doppler waveforms in obstetrics. It covers the statistical background to the interpretation of antenatal tests of foetal wellbeing; the relatively cheap and simple continuous wave ultrasound; and the more complex and expensive techniques: colour flow and pulsed Doppler ultrasound.

目次

  • Part 1 Basic considerations: the physics of Doppler ultrasound
  • the statistics as applied to Doppler ultrasound studies. Part 2 Continuous wave Doppler ultrasound: signal acquisition and reporting results
  • Doppler waveforms in normal pregnancy
  • umbilical artery Doppler ultrasonography as a screening tool
  • the applications of continuous wave screening to the uteroplacental circulation
  • the application of umbilical artery studies to complicated pregnancies
  • the application of uteroplacental waveforms to complicated pregnancies
  • the use of Doppler ultrasound in the management of diabetic pregnancy
  • the use of continuous wave Doppler ultrasound in a district general hospital
  • the pathophysiological basis on abnormal flow velocity waveforms. Part 3 Pulsed wave and colour flow Doppler ultrasound: pulsed Doppler examination of the normal foetus
  • the clinical value of waveforms from the descending aorta
  • Doppler studies of the cerebral and renal circulations in small-forgestation age foetuses
  • intracardiac Doppler ultrasound studies
  • neonatal cerebral blood flow
  • Doppler measurements of maternal cardiac output.
