The Handbook of Play Therapy is a comprehensive introduction to the theory and practice of play therapy. It provides a practical guide to the basic skills necessary to begin tapping the healing potential of play and gives many examples of good practice.

内容説明
Workers in a wide range of fields are already using play in therapeutic work with children and families. Some have inherited skills from earlier generations of workers; some are developing their own highly innovative and creative approaches. But many are working in isolation, often unaware of similar kinds of work going on elsewhere, yet eager for new ideas. Accounts of current work are locked up in specialist journals or lacking because workers are too busy to write. Other professionals working with children who would like to learn about play therapy, the theory behind it and the basic skills and understandings needed to practise it, are offered little training or guidance. This book has been written for both these groups of people. "The Handbook of Play Therapy" provides a comprehensive introduction to play therapy. It gives a clear outline of the theory and gives guidelines, and examples of good practice in different settings and situations. It includes advice on training and includes useful information on further resources. This book should be of interest to professionals in training and practice in the fields of social work, occupational thearapy, psychology and education.
