Description
In recent years, the theoretical importance and the practical necessity of ethical analysis in international affairs have both become well established. This book is a collection of case studies which have been selected to illustrate the variety of ethical concerns that arise in international affairs. Ranging from the uneven application of the Law of the Sea to the uneven distribution of trade favours emerging from the integration of the European Community, and from the IMF to Nigeria, Brazil and Panama, the studies show how issues of debt, development and environment are integrally linked and pinpoint the kind of ethical problems that policymakers, experts and theorists will be wrestling with in the near future.
