Description
A brief explanation of the concept of "concurrent engineering" introduces this book. It resumes with papers concerning basic aspects of the technology and with discussions of advanced applications within an industrial framework. Assessments are also made of the relationship of concurrent engineering with specific phases of manufacturing processes, from design and development to production. The contribution of representatives from many countries affords an international consideration of the subject, including the seeking of common denominators within the varying approaches of scientists and professionals from different industries and territories. This book should be of interest not only to researchers, engineers and students, but also to production managers and other professionals concerned with new developments for the further implementation of concurrent engineering in industry.
