Description and Table of Contents
Description
This volume aims to help young scientists become familiar with new concepts and results of both theoretical and experimental nuclear physics. Based on the annual International Summer School in Nuclear Physics held at the University of Warsaw, Poland, the lectures are presented to graduate students by nuclear scientists, predominantly from USA, Europe and Japan. The theme of the 1990 summer school was nuclear and atomic physics with accelerators in the 1990s.
Table of Contents

A microscopic description of the space-time evolution of nuclear collision processes (G Peilert, Li Zhuxia, M Berenguer, C Hartnack, J Aichelin, H Stocker, W Greiner). Production of intermediate mass fragments: the transition from intermediate to relativistic energies (U J Lynen). Direct and damped heavy-ion fragmentation (A Budzanowski). Very hot nuclear systems and their binary and multifragment decay (L G Moretto, Y Blumenfeld, D Delis, G J Wozniak). Hot nuclei studied with high efficiency neutron detectors (J Galin).
