Description
An integrated series of studies on the policies needed to achieve sustainable development in each of the main economic and social sectors is presented in this study. It looks first at the changes needed in political institutions and processes, and in the economic principles on which plans are made. It then concentrates on the major sectors: agriculture; industry; urban development; forests; drylands; energy use. It concludes by describing how the new policies could be financed and discusses the biggest challenge of all - to stabilize growth in population and consumption.
