内容説明

The Celts were one of the founders of European civilization, the first North European people to emerge into recorded history. They have survived today only on the western seaboard of Europe: the Irish, Manx, Scots, Welsh, Cornish, and Bretons. The most extensive literary remains survive in Irish and Welsh, the earliest survivals from the sixth century. From Celtic legends have come not only the stories of "Cuchulainn and Fionn Mac", of "Deirdre of the Sorrows" and "Grainne", but the stories of "Arthur" and "Tristan and Iseult". The author also wrote "The Celtic Empire: The First Millenium of Celtic History 1000 BC-51 AD", "A Guide to Early Celtic Remains" and "Dictionary of Irish Mythology"
