内容説明

This book exposes the growing concern that the law and the legal system is dominating the professionals involved in promoting children's welfare and obscuring the real needs of children. King and Trowell see the law as a limited and sometimes inappropriate institution for promoting children's welfare. They argue that many issues only reach the courts because of inadequate preventive measures and machinery for conflict resolution. They conclude with an exploration of successful child care and protection systems operating in countries outside the UK.
