Description and Table of Contents
Description
Recent advances in microelectronics technology have led to the increasing utilization of integrated circuit components in virtually all sectors of society. One particular component is the Application-Specific Integrated Circuit, ASIC, which is employed in such diverse products as washing machines, car engines and mainframe computers. The successful use of ASICs in products is due to the exploitation of computer-aided design tools, especially automatic synthesis tools, which reduce time and cost. This book reviews the state-of-the-art in logic synthesis techniques, which have recently been developed for ASIC components. Each chapter ends with comprehensive research references.
