Part of the "Studies in Economic and Social History" series, this book looks at the Spanish economy from the end of the Civil War of 1936-1939 to the present. It analyzes the transformation of Spain from a backward agrarian economy to a modern, rapidly growing, outward-orientated economy, fully integrated into the international economy and an active member of the EC. Other works by Joseph Harrison include "An Economic History of Modern Spain" and "The Spanish Economy in the Twentieth Century".
