内容説明

Each volume in the series Isotopes in Organic Chemistry is centered around a special theme linking the various chapters together. Thus the previous volumes dealt with: Isotopes in Molecular Rearrangements; Isotopes in Hydrogen Transfer Processes; Carbon-13 in Organic Chemistry; Tritium in Organic Chemistry; Isotopes in Cationic Reactions; Isotopic Effects: Recent Developments in Theory and Experiment; and Secondary and Solvent Isotope Effects. This eighth volume deals with heavy atom isotope effects. Undoubtedly, the application of these effects will play an expanding role in future research. The surveys contained in this book are intended as an aid to the research worker, and more importantly to act as a stimulus for further research. It is the latest addition to this well-known series highlighting the use and value of isotopes in organic chemistry.

目次

1. Heavy atom isotope effects in molecular rearrangements (H.J. Shine). 2. How to measure heavy atom isotope effects: general principles (P. Paneth). 3. Heavy atom isotope effects in enzyme-catalyzed reactions (P.F. Cook). 4. Information derived from variation in the natural abundance of 15 N in complex biological systems (G. Shearer, D.H. Kohl). 5. Heavy atom isotope ratios in bone as guides to prehistoric diets (M.J. Schoeninger). Heavy atom isotope rate effects in solvolytic nucleophilic reactions at saturated carbon (V.J. Shiner, Jr., F.P. Wilgis). Index.
