Description and Table of Contents
Description
Many microbiologists, enzymologists and geneticists have devoted extensive work to alkaophilic microorganisms. Particularly in the field of molecular genetics, including genetic engineering, alkalophilic microorganisms are one of the most interesting sources of DNA. This new volume deals with work on alkaophilic microorganisms conducted since 1981, and focuses particularly on genetic investigation of enzymes and applications of active fragments of DNA, such as promoters, singal fragments, and secretion vectors. Broad in scope and detailed inpresentation, the book considers this field of research according to the physiology, isolation and classification of alkalophilic microorganisms. It also presents the latest information concerning industrial applications of research.
