内容説明
The wild taxa of crop plants have been extensively used for the development of biotic and abiotic stress resistant varieties and transfer of numerous other attributes desired for crop improvement. The purpose of the book is to present an overview of basic and applied aspects of hybridization of distantly related species and genera of crop plants. The book, comprising of 12 chapters has been written by the experts from the various countries. Some of the topics covered are: distant hybridization; crossability relation and barriers to crossability; overcoming the barriers in distant hybridization; unilateral incompatibility in distant hybridization; sterility in the hybrids of distant species/genera and cytogenetics of F1 and their progenies obtained from distant hybridization. The volume aims to be a valuable source of reference on distant hybridization intended to serve researchers and scientists working on plant breeding, genetics, biology and agriculture.
