Description

A study of the fabled island of Borneo, integrating its spectacular natural history with the rich culture of the people. The text describes Borneo's prehistory, earliest human habitation and its people and culture today. "The Nature of Borneo" features: photographs of tropical rainforests, mountains, caves, and coral reefs, and wildlife including the dog-faced snake and flying fox; native practices including headhunting; and the intriguing and diverse cultures of the Melanu of Sarawak, the Penan and Punan, nomadic forest dwellers and ethnic Chinese. Terry Domico's photographs have appeared in many published volumes including "Bears of the World".
