Description
This study of "Sense and Sensibility" builds on recent developments in literary criticism concerned with political history and issues of gender. It is staged as a series of interventions in the text of the book, and aims to locate and track certain significant elements of the novel as they recur and are revised through the text, and to measure them against other texts of Jane Austin's age, some fictive and some polemical.
