Description

The following is a series of lectures given in Canterbury Cathedral Library in late 1990 and early 1991. We would like to thank the Cathedral for offering us its hospitality. The cost of the lectures was supported by the Board of Studies in Politics and International Relations at the University of Kent, the Centre for the Study of Religion and Society, and the Cathedral itself. Finally, we would like to thank the citizens of Canterbury and the students of the University for their lively contributions to the discussions following the lectures.
