Description

This book presents a collection of lectures and papers presented at the Fourth International Symposium on Refined Flow Modeling and Turbulence Measurements conducted in PRC in 1990. The symposium's objective was to advance the study of flow modelling and turbulence measurements and to expand capabilities for predicting momentum and heat and mass transport processes of fluid phenomena. Co-sponsored by several international organizations, the research presented has applications in the fields of nuclear power, energy, the environment, construction, and geophysics. It is aimed at specialists in fluid dynamics and numerical modelling of fluid flow and heat transfer, as well as researchers in the fields of nuclear power, energy, environment, hydraulic engineering, and fluid mechanics.

Table of Contents

  • Modelling in turbulent flows and heat transfer
  • progress in numerical techniques
  • dispersion, stratified flow in atmospheric and water environment
  • fundamental theory of turbulence
  • thermal hydraulics and mixing by buoyant jets
  • flows in rivers and open channels
  • multiphase flows
  • unsteady flow and wave motion
  • turbulent flow measurements and simulations.
