This edition reflects the many recent changes in the property world but the book's aims remain the same - to provide students and practising professionals with a thorough introduction to the process of property development in the UK. The text has been updated and revised, giving greater emphasis to private sector experience with new sections on the development process, marketing and an extension to the financing section to take account of the recent development in debt financing. The chapters on development appraisal and finance have been expanded to cover innovations now applied to planning and management of the design and construction stages. This new edition also includes photographs of development schemes of the 1990's. Leading developers have selected from their portfolios a project which illustrates a particular aspect of the development process - each illustration is accompanied with a short comment on the merits of the scheme from the developer.
