内容説明

One of the most significant advances in therapeutic treatment in recent years is that of vasodilator therapy for treatment of cardiac failure, hypertension and angina pectoris. Vasodilator agents have been shown efficacious not only in alleviating symptoms of cardiac failure but also in reducing mortality in these conditions through dilation of the arteries, thus allowing greater blood flow. Successful as the therapies are, there have been few adequate explanations as to their mechanisms of action. This book discusses the therapeutic advances and assesses their theoretical basis. The mechanisms discussed have been largely neglected, yet an understanding of them helps explain the favourable actions of commonly used drugs.
