Description and Table of Contents

Description

This work (the first of two) contains papers presented at an international conference on the technology of rotating machinery, which specifically address theoretical and applied research in transport phenomena. Rotating machinery is the prime mechanism for transporting heat, mass and momentum in numerous industrial systems. As technology advances and the stress on such systems increases, the demands on the operational conditions and capabilities of rotating machinery are greatly increased. The two books which contain the Hawaii conference proceedings are purchasable separately or together in a two-volume set.

Table of Contents

  • Turbine cooling heat transfer
  • rotating surfaces
  • curved ducts and rotating channels
  • flow in pumps
  • analytical and numerical methods
  • design and design methods
  • multiphase flow and cavitation
  • general topics.
