Description

This text reviews the current role of MRI in abdominal and pelvic imaging intended for general and abdominal radiologists who wish to incorporate it imto their practice and physicians in related specialities who need to know what this technology can do now for them, rather than for the MRI specialist interested in the latest technical advances. A systematic approach to abdominal MRI is presented throughout the book and the focus is on practical applications performed using current state-of-the-art equipment and techniques. MRI is not presented in isolation but in conjunction with other studies commonly performed in the work-up of patients with abdominal complaints, such as barium contrast studies, ultrasound and CT, and its relative merits and limitations are discussed. The practical value of the text is enhanced by generous use of tables, protocols, imaging tips and "pearls" and it is amply illustrated with over 1000 state-of-the-art images from all relevant modalities.
