Description and Table of Contents
Description
This new edition of Eddy: The English Legal System has been revised to provide a stimulating, modern account of the English Legal System. The text is lively and highly readable with very few footnotes. Major statutory developments in the shape of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990, the Criminal Justice Act 1991, and the Children Act 1989 amongst others, have demanded substantial revision of the text. As with the rest of the legal system, the work and jurisdiction of the civil courts are undergoing considerable reorganization. Dr. Darbyshire has revised the chapter on civil courts to reflect these changes. In addition a new chapter on EC law has been included to provide students with an uncomplicated guide to the institutions of the EC and the sources of EC law.
