内容説明
This book presents collected papers based on the symposium held to honour Yves Laporte on the occasion of his retirement. All the chapters have subsequently been edited and drawn together in a cohesive style. The theme, muscle receptors and their role in the spinal management of movement is covered from four angles. The first chapter on muscle receptors is devoted to spindles, with studies in animals and humans, and contributions on tendons, organs and nociceptors. Chapter two, in addition to studies on motoneurons and motor units, contains an incursion into the newly developing field of slice cultures of the spinal cord. The other two chapters deal with gaze muscle afferents and the problems of eye muscle proprioception, and spinal circuits. Throughout the book there is a blend of reviews and snapshot reports of current research in this rapidly developing area of neuroscience.
