Description
This teachers guide accompanies a text on medieval history. The guide makes the links between the text and the National Curriculum requirements for programmes of study and attainment targets. Practical help and advice, including matrices, exemplars and mark schemes assist teachers to: devise schemes of work in accordance with National Curriculum requirements which are based on "A Sense of History"; chart pupil-coverage of key ideas and concepts; make assessments of pupils' historical knowledge, understanding and historical skills; record pupil-progress. The guide also provides exemplars to enable pupil recording of their own acheivement within each unit. Each guide supports and extends the activities of the pupils book providing mark schemes for the assessment of pupils' work arising from major exercises in the text linking mark schemes to National Curriculum levels of attainment, providing extension exercises and mark schemes for high attaining pupils in Key Stage 3. The guide also contains exercises to supplement those in the text. Any exercises focus on a single Attainment Target.
Where individual pupils of classes have weaknesses in relation to one attainment target, teachers will be able to select programmes of work which concentrate on developing expertise in that area.
