内容説明
Examines Polish women's oppression before, on the cusp and after the collapse of communism. This book analyzes the relationship between Solidarity, state capitalism, nationalism and feminism, combining historical sources, sociological data, propaganda, Polish literature with lesser known underground sources, illustrations, photographs and interviews. The first part covers Polish women and history, language, work, family, law, male violence, sexuality, culture and politics. The rest of the book includes more than 40 interviews with women as they talk about their lives. It also examines the Polish feminist movement in the 19th century, during the inter-war years, under state capitalism and in the 90s.
