内容説明
This is a series of original and practical exercise for tutors, trainers and supervisors to use with counsellors. It is designed to promote some of the more advanced skills used in counselling and therapy, and to further an understanding of many of the issues and concepts which underlie a psychodynamic approach. It charts a developmental course, firstly in terms of the counsellor's own cycle. The exercises illustrate the interplay between client and therapist, past and present, reality and fantasy, and gives insight into the constitutent elements that contribute to the development of people's relationships, attitudes, preconceptions and beliefs. For each exercise there is clearly argued rationale for using it; details of the necessary materials, methodology, duration, instructions and debriefing: and the author's own contextualising and concluding comments. This is an experimental training manual for psychodynamically informed individual counselling and, as we have come to expect from Michael Jacobs, it is packed with a wealth of insights, knowledge, experience and brilliantly illustrative case material.
