内容説明

This book argues that Iran's Revolutionary Guard has retained its radical ideology even though it has assumed the outward structure of a conventional military force. Civilian control of the Guard, according to the author, is relatively weak, and the Guard has sometimes acted contrary to the wishes of pragmatic political leaders such as President Rafsanjani in order to promote hardline goals of the Islamic revolution. The Guard is playing a major role in renewed efforts to export the revolution throughout the Muslim world and its arms build-up makes the Guard an increasing threat to US forces and their allies in the Persian Gulf.
